Bilbo and Allice Moments
My writing journey began by accident when I had to replace an author for a children’s book I was illustrating in 2019.
After much work, having it edited and reviewed after a whole new story re-write, I self-published “All About Hana” on August 8, 2020.
Afterwards, I started taking structured writing workshops that were available in Toronto. Since then, I have five (5) finished manuscripts, four (4) of which are various stages of dummy completion. I have six (6) other manuscripts waiting to be revised or finalized for submission.
I found myself immersed in the unexpected world of children’s writing especially when writing resulted in a number of images in my head. Those images then would give birth to other images that inspired new stories. A loop. I feel like Allice. Yes, a double “l” because I wasn’t really following the white rabbit.
Or would I be Bilbo, happy in my introvert hole, but pulled into an unexpected journey of children’s book and the various worlds have overtaken my imagination. I can’t wait what unfolds ahead of me.
Maybe like in most children’s story I would grow and have a satisfactory happily ever after during this Bilbo and Allice moment in my life.
I am not a big writer, nor a fond blogger. It takes an effort to write more than so many words. But now writing generates images to illustrate, images that keep coming and feeding my mind, then I want to write so I can draw more. It has become my own amazing adventure.
